SNOWSHOE, W.Va. – Tis the season for announcing spring and summer festivals. But if you really can’t wait to get that festival feeling, that’s OK, because Snowshoe Mountain is going to go ahead and start the party come March when there’s still plenty of snow in the mountains for Spring Break.
Snowshoe just announced the lineup for their free village concerts for their 8th Annual Ballhooter Festival set for Friday through Sunday, March 13-15, 2020 with everything from nationally touring jam bands to some really strong regional funk and bluegrass flavor as well.
Headlining this year’s event will be Papadosio, the dynamic progressive rock band whose live shows have been
packing out Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre for years. Other bands slated to perform at this year’s festival include festival favorites, Dopapod, North Mississippi Allstars, Perpetual Groove, all of whom have played the nation’s largest festivals. Emerging new grass unit, The Wooks, from just over in Lexington, Ky., and Fayetteville’s own groovealicious, Black Garlic, will also bringing their own unique roots-blended flavor.
Held annually during spring break season, the Ballhooter Festival draws thousands to Snowshoe every March. Spring skiing conditions, free concerts, and a vibrant nightlife scene have made the event popular with visitors from all over the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Mid-
West. Go online at https://www.snowshoemtn.com/things-to-do/events to check out even more winter weekend events at Snowshoe Mountain including races such as Berming Man, more fests (like the Homegrown Festival), and special ski days including their WV Ski Free Day in March.
